Revelations of a Cosmic Traveler

The Importance of Intentions

by Swami Shankarananda on 11/16/10

A disciple of truth is deliberate and conscientious about offering clear and powerful intentions to accomplish his tasks and realize his divine aspirations. Intention goes far beyond wishful thinking, for it is energized by the power of will and clarity of vision and unity of purpose to realize the hearts desire. Divine willpower is the source of intention and the gift of ones inner being. Your life will improve day by day as you create intentions that promote well-being, harmony, peace, loving relationships, and the well-being of all. This is an integral quality of the disciple.

I am the instrument of the doer of all action.

I carry with me the healing power of God!

I choose to live I joy, and I will use everything to take me into joy.

I open myself to the healing power to express my wholeness in manifestation.

Successful Living

by Swami Shankarananda on 10/12/10

To live successfully in this world, one must master the art of being in it but not of it. One must always intend to complete the task that one desires to begin, without allowing any negative thoughts to undermine ones intention. If you desire to be successful in any undertaking, it is essential to entertain only thoughts and images of success till the feeling of success is born within ones heart. The result is successful manifestation of ones ideal or hearts desire. He alone is truly successful who has learned to live in the abiding consciousness of unconditional love and inseparable oneness with the Source.

My Support and Strength

by Swami Shankarananda on 07/31/10

As I journey through thy world, O Beloved, I pray always to hear thy voice in all voices. May I remember to meditate and rest on thy word, that I may realize thy truths in my heart and act according to thy word. I choose at all times to abide in thy word, for thus alone can I know thy will: ever to love unconditionally.

Thou alone art my support, my strength, my unfailing source of peace and contentment. Inspire and guide me always to come to thee in the hour of prayer, to commune with thee in times of joy and to receive thy impartations of love in the sacred silence of my heart and in the service of my human brothers and sisters.

How painful to cling to ego-consciousness and to let our life be governed by self-delusion. O almighty One, liberate me from the thralldom of the senses and the egotistic ambitions of the little self. Guide me back to the source of peace and oneness, that I may abide in thy consciousness of unity and love.

How quickly we lose our forbearance when judged and criticized by others. Grant us the fortitude and spiritual discernment to know thy voice, to follow thy guidance, and be immersed in thy love. And let us be silent when wisdom so dictates, that we may know peace of mind and freedom of soul.

When I come to thee in the hour of prayer, I share with thee my longings and gratitude for all the blessings of life. Then I wait in worshipful silence for thy voice to utter itself and reveal to me what you would have me know, feel, love, do, and share. Thou speakest to me in waves of love, intuitions, inspirations, and spontaneous insights. When I open my eyes and listen for thy voice in nature, thou speakest to me through all beings and creation.

Embraced by Love

by Swami Shankarananda on 07/02/10

Beloved of our hearts, how many times do we have to doubt thy support and guidance before we at long last gain full assurance that thou dost love us unconditionally and art with us even in times of deep despair, fear, and helplessness. Do not let us drown in this world of Maya!  In this moment of deep longing for thy grace, I am uplifted by an invisible power and feel the embrace of thy love. Now I remember and rest in the assurance that thou art always with me, guiding me even when I claim thou art not.

Eternal Love

by Swami Shankarananda on 05/30/10

Thou hast given me a mind to know, a heart to love, and a body to serve. Therefore, I pray thee to assure me of thy eternal love and guidance and the realization that I am thy beloved Son. Inspire me to come to thee always for guidance and truth, light and peace, understanding, and harmony. Guide me in my meditations to receive they light, wisdom, and peace, that I may live my life in total service and remembrance of thy love for me and mine for thee.

Only by ascending in consciousness to thee do I realize freedom of soul and peace of mind. My heart has discovered thy love for me, and ever since I am filled with joy. Thou art my refuge. I need only enter the sanctuary of my heart and there thou art to bless me with thy eternal light, beauty, and grace. Meditating on thy light of love, I am liberated from the thralldom of ignorance and am filled to overflowing with thy love and saturated with the bliss of divine oneness.

By thy law of unfoldment, we are provided with everything necessary to our journey through thy universe. In thee is our starting point, and through all incarnations, we are journeying through thy universe to experience thy grace, wisdom, and love. Help us ever to feel thy presence and receive the assurance of thy unfailing guidance so that we may always remember thee and follow thee.

Thou hast granted me the realization that I am the immortal, ever free Self, verily, thine own Self. The veil of death has fallen off, and I behold myself by the light of pure consciousness and feel myself to be limitless, all-blissful, and free of all limitations. By thy grace I have been resurrected in the consciousness of universality and realization of unconditional love. I am forever free, forever whole.

Mothers Day

by Swami Shankarananda on 05/07/10

O Mother Divine, on this day our hearts rejoice in thy unconditional love for us and the outpouring of thy grace on all thy children.  Even so, inspire and guide us to honor and worship thee as manifested in every woman and as the nurturer in every man.  O Mother Divine, it is thy world that reminds us of thy unfailing support, patience, and loving care. May we remember to see thee especially in those women of the world who have forgotten thy presence within them.

Grace of the Beloved

by Swami Shankarananda on 05/04/10

O joy of fulfillment, thy name is bliss! Thou art the pole star of my life, the source of all grace. Thou art the grace of the Beloved. What else do I need therefore but Thy grace?   That is the fulfillment of all desires. I adore Thee. I love Thee. I yearn to be ever filled with Thy grace, to live and move and have my being in the expression of Thy beauty, love, truth, harmony, and creative self-expression. My heart overflows with gratitude, for again and again Thou fillest the cup of my heart; and the faster I empty it, the faster Thou pourest Thyself into it.

Joy In Service

by Swami Shankarananda on 04/23/10

I have found my joy in service, thus I enjoy the immediate fruit of fulfillment. May all my actions be inspired by thy will, O Beloved of my life, that they may keep me immersed in the thought of thee. May I always remember that thou art the doer and I am thy self expressed in every thought, word and action.  Today I rest in sublime contentment, as I bear witness to thy love in action. Today my heart overflows with love and gratitude, knowing that seedtime and harvest are thy grace and activity, that the effect is the fruit coming forth from the seed that is first planted in consciousness.

What Is Man

by Swami Shankarananda on 04/01/10

What is man? And the Psalmist inquires further, “that you are mindful of him?"   In meditation he realizes that man is much more than a physical being. In fact, physicality is only one aspect of man's fourfold nature. Consistent with the law of self-unfoldment and the nature of being, love decrees that all aspects of man are provided for the fulfillment of the supreme Spirit. Only by unfolding his fourfold nature...physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually....can man regain the realization of his true identity, universality, and perfection. Through all experiences, therefore, let us remember to find balance and harmony, the hallmark of the enlightened being.

Self-Mastery

by Swami Shankarananda on 03/23/10

Perfection is the inherent nature of every being. The unfoldment of perfection leads to the realization of self-mastery. Yogic disciplines assist us in gaining mastery of our physical, mental, emotional, and egotistic nature. Recognizing the Self to be the supreme master, ego finds itself fulfilling its true function...that of being the servant. The mind as well needs to be trained to be the instrument of the supreme Master or else pretending itself to be the master, it creates misery in man's life. Joy is achieved through self-mastery. May you live in joy!

I Am Love

by Swami Shankarananda on 03/13/10

One who loves bears witness to the Beloved in action, for all love is the expression of the Beloved. Love is the realization and feelings of oneness. To attain that realization, the devotee needs only to love unconditionally. What is the nature of unconditional love? Accepting and allowing everyone the freedom to choose their way of life and self-expression. By dedicating all actions to the Beloved, the devotee maintains his conscious awareness of the Beloved's presence as all love. The devotee translates the revelation that God is Love into the realization "I am Love".

Transcending Karma

by Swami Shankarananda on 03/06/10

A man is under the law of karma so long as he believes that it is a law and that one cannot change it.  The enlightened, however, have realized that karma, or action and effect, can be changed by changing one's belief or thinking and heart. When one chooses to love unconditionally one transcends the law and lives in the consciousness of lawlessness -- that which transcends law.  When fully understood, life is a continuous unfoldment of God's love through the law of grace, the only law that transcends man-made laws.  We can choose to live by grace or under the law of self-limited thinking. Which feels better? as you intend, so it is.

Consciousness is the Only Reality

by Swami Shankarananda on 02/26/10

Consciousness is the only Reality.  It is all that is. It is the law of self-manifestation. It is the light of salvation, or self-liberation.  It is the truth of being.  Consciousness defines itself by as I AM.  God is Consciousness unfolding through each of its individualized expressions.  Consciousness is the substance of all creative ideas, ideals, and manifestation.  As individualized consciousness, man has the freedom to identify himself with anything to which he attaches his consciousness.  Attachment to the object of consciousness creates self-forgetfulness.  The consciousness of being liberates individualized consciousness into universality and luminosity.
